About Salama Insurance Salama Cooperative Insurance Company (formerly Saudi IAIC Cooperative Insurance Co.) is a Saudi joint stock company established by Royal Decree No. M/60 in 2006. The company’s roots go back to 1979 with the establishment of Islamic Arab Insurance Company (Salama) in the UAE. Salama is one of the largest Takaful and ReTakaful players in the MENA region and is considered a pioneer in Sharia-compliant insurance.
